Our public education system, which has remained largely unchanged for 100 years, is not designed to enable all children to realize their potential and achieve their dreams. We need a new kind of education for a new time.
Children born next year will graduate from high school in 2040, and the world they’ll enter as adults will have radically transformed. How do we prepare tomorrow’s students, especially those from underserved communities, for success in our evolving world?
In celebration of Teach For America South Carolina (TFASC)’s 10th anniversary, we are excited to announce our inaugural DiscussED forum on March 3, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET! DiscussED is a series of bold and innovative conversations to discuss the evolution of South Carolina’s education system.
The theme of our inaugural forum is “The Future of Education: 2040 and Beyond,” which will explore the creation of a drastically different educational experience. Learn more about the DiscussED program >
Join this critical virtual discussion with South Carolina corporate, education, legislative, and nonprofit leaders as well as Teach For America teachers, alumni, and staff. Each participant has a different part to play in our education system, but we share a common vision: One day, all students will have access to an excellent education.
The pandemic provides a once-in-a-generation opportunity to come together as a community – ultimately to help solve the educational challenges of tomorrow. However, the future of education will look the same as the past if we remain unwilling to recognize our interconnectedness and are reluctant to make hard choices.
